SMS Consent and Opt-In Methods
Phone Clarity supports service-related SMS and MMS communication between participating businesses, their customers, and their employees. Consent is obtained before messages are sent and is associated with the business identified in the consent experience.
Messages may include requested store information, responses to inquiries, appointment coordination, order or service updates, voicemail or missed-call notifications, and related customer-care communication. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help.
Customer Opt-In Methods
Account-Specific Web Form
The customer visits a public form identifying the participating business, enters their information, and affirmatively selects an unchecked consent checkbox before submission. The form links to the Phone Clarity Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The consent record includes the business, phone number, timestamp, source, and disclosure presented.
Automated Phone System
When a participating business offers requested information by text, its phone system may present a disclosure such as:
For store hours, location information, or pricing, press 1 to receive a text message from [BusinessName]. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
The customer's affirmative keypad selection is recorded before the requested message is sent.
Staff-Assisted or Verbal Consent
During an in-store or telephone interaction, staff may ask:
Would you like [BusinessName] to send text updates about your request? Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
The business records the customer's affirmative response before sending messages. Consent is limited to the identified business and the communication the customer requested or agreed to receive.
Employee Operational Notifications
Employees may affirmatively consent to operational notifications such as missed-call alerts, voicemail notices, and service updates related to their work. The employee disclosure identifies the business, the kinds of messages, varying frequency, possible carrier rates, STOP, and HELP.
